Ghosts of Oshkosh Past: A Haunted New Chapter Starts on Our Block

Some nights the shop feels a little more crowded than the guest list suggests. Tonight was one of them, and for the best possible reason: Ghosts of Oshkosh Past LLC held their new business kick-off reception here at Bleak Boutique, and it was a tremendous success.

The room was full, the conversation ran long, and the whole evening carried that particular electricity of a good idea finally stepping out into the world. We are thrilled we got to host it.

So who are Ghosts of Oshkosh Past?

Ghosts of Oshkosh Past will be leading historical walking tours through downtown Oshkosh, with a deliberate emphasis on the city's haunted history. Not a gimmick, not a jump scare in a rented cloak. Real local history, told through the stories that never quite settled down: the buildings that remember more than they let on, the names that keep resurfacing, the parts of the record that come with a chill attached.

Downtown Oshkosh has been standing here a long while. Ghosts of Oshkosh Past is simply going to walk you through it and tell you the truth about what happened, including the parts that are harder to explain.

Why you'll be seeing us together

Ghosts of Oshkosh Past won't be based inside the shop, but their tours will be starting on our block. That makes Bleak Boutique a natural rallying point and landmark for the gathering, which suits us just fine. Meet up here, get your bearings, then head out into the dark with a guide who knows which stories belong to which corners.

You'll also start seeing in-store signage pointing you to their booking website, so you can lock in a tour while you're browsing. Come for the candles and the tarot decks, leave with a walking tour on the calendar.

September is when Oshkosh starts leaning into the season anyway. The light goes gold and then goes early, the air turns, and suddenly a guided walk through the city's haunted history sounds less like a novelty and more like the obvious thing to do on a Friday night.
